Writer's Tea was born from the daily ritual of bestselling author Karina Halle — a lifelong writer who discovered that the right cup of tea could transform an ordinary writing session into something extraordinary. After years of reaching for the same mug before every chapter, she and her husband Scott MacKenzie — himself a USA Today bestselling author — realized that other writers, readers, and book lovers shared the same instinct: tea and stories simply belong together.
Together, they created Writer's Tea — a collection of premium literary-themed tea blends designed for every chapter of your creative journey.
Meet the Founders
Karina Halle
Karina Halle is a New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author of over 80 published novels spanning contemporary romance, gothic horror, dark fantasy, and romantic suspense. Her work has been published by Penguin Random House, Simon & Schuster, and Hachette, and translated into over 20 languages worldwide.
A former music and travel journalist turned screenwriter and novelist, Karina brings the same creativity and attention to detail to Writer's Tea that she brings to her books. Each blend was crafted to match a specific mood in the writing and reading process — because she knows from personal experience that the right tea at the right moment makes all the difference.
Scott MacKenzie
Scott MacKenzie is a USA Today bestselling author of four novels, with works translated into French and Italian. A storyteller across multiple mediums, Scott also created, wrote, and produced the TV pilot The Yacht Club through his production company Third Reef Productions Inc.
Scott handles the business side of Writer's Tea — from sourcing ingredients and managing operations to building the brand that brings literary tea to book lovers across North America. His combination of creative instinct and entrepreneurial drive keeps Writer's Tea growing.
When they're not writing or developing new tea blends, Karina and Scott split their time between a 120-year-old house in Victoria, British Columbia, and Los Angeles with their dog Perry.

Writer's Tea is a small-batch, independently owned tea company. We work with dedicated tea artisans to create blends using thoughtfully sourced ingredients, including plant-based compostable pyramid sachets that are better for the environment.
